LCN joins call on Chancellor to not allow child poverty to worsen

Monday, December 3rd 2012

The Law Centres Network's director, Julie Bishop, as well as Les Allamby, chief executive of Law Centre (Northern Ireland) have joined 48 other signatories from charities, unions and other organisations in an open letter to Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne.

The letter calls on the Chancellor, on the eve of his annual Autumn Statement (due on Wednesday, 5 December), to reconsider several of the Government's planned benefits cuts, as well as uprating benefits rates in line with inflation, rather than freezing them.
